Going into the final weeks of the semester, four positions remain open in the Student Affairs Office.

Carrie Lovelace Petr, Vice President for Student Affairs, said the open position of campus life director also had two open assistant positions.

Petr said these three positions are posted and are each in various stages in the hiring process. She said all the positions are open until filled.

“The preference,” said Petr, “and the goal of the search committee is to have people begin this summer.”

The assistant director for Greek life position is dedicated to all aspects of Greek life, said Petr. Those responsibilities include Greek council, activities and recruitment, and acting as an advisor and resource for the students.

The assistant director of campus engagement and wellness oversees intramurals, the Student Programming Board, student wellness and student organizations.

The director position, said Petr, supports both assistant positions and manages budgets, training, and assessment.

“It means that they (the new hires) get the opportunity to really roll up their sleeves,” said Petr, “and cultivate overall campus engagement.”

In a recent article, it was stated that the current chief judicial officer, Title IX coordinator and director of Residential Life and Education would be leaving Doane.

Petr said this position had been two separate people in the past. She said the current staff is discussing how to go about filling these positions, but is unsure of when these positions would be filled.
