Student Congress senator elections were held in the Perry Campus Center Tuesday and Wednesday.

According to an all campus email, the newly elected senators include:

  • Madi Warrelmann

  • Ivan Ortega-Nguyen

  • Sarah DeBoer

  • Quinn Martin

  • Kayle Byrd

  • Monte McNeil

  • Haley Miller

  • Brandon Crom

  • Kenneth Weber

  • Kade Wehrs

The results were announced at 8:36 p.m. Wednesday night.

Senator Haley Miller says she joined StuCo because she loves Doane and all of the students here.

I joined StuCo to serve them (the students) and make Doane the best place it can possibly be,” Miller said. I know many people who have complaints and don't know who to talk to, so I want to serve people like that and let their voices be heard.”

Senator Monte McNeill said that there are a few problems around campus he’d like to actively pursue, including the housing policy.

“To gear it (the housing policy) more towards the old way,” McNeill said. “The cafeteria is always going to get complaints no matter how great it is, that being said, I believe there is room for improvement.”

Kade Wehrs said that he is open to student comments, concerns and questions. “I am always open to hearing concerns,” Wehrs said  “In addition, I would be glad to answer any students questions or hear their ideas.”
