After years of climbing the ranks, Doane University fell off the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges list announced by the Washington Post Sept. 9.

Through a quick Google search it has been found that Doane had been on an incline up the list of 223 National Liberal Arts Colleges rankings since 2009.

The list was made to help students narrow their college search based on data in the top 15 categories. Each category is assigned a weight (as a percentage) that is based on U.S. News’ researched judgements about what measures of quality matter most.

Categories include:

• outcomes (graduation rates)

• peer assessment

• faculty resources

• student excellence

• financial resources

• alumni giving
