Library Director Melissa Gomis has been reinstated.
Gomis returned to campus today after being put on administrative leave last week, an action that angered many of the Doane faculty.
Gomis thanked other members of the faculty for their support in an email yesterday.
"I want to thank everyone for your support and hard work this past week," Gomis said. "You're all amazing colleagues and the best part of being at Doane."
Gomis was put on administrative leave because of a photo display outside the library that featured two photos of students from the 1920s in blackface.
Administration investigated the situation.
Yesterday, President Jacque Carter sent an email to the Doane community stating that the investigation was over.
In the email, Carter assures the community that, "steps and corrective actions are being taken to avoid similar situations in the future."
