Despite sweeping Morningside, volleyball goes 1-2 on the week

Doane Volleyball swept Midland in their home opener Saturday, winning their first GPAC conference game of the season. 

The tigers won 25-21, 25-19, 25-22 respectively. They are now 10-5 on the season. 

Senior Alexis Dale led the team in hitting percentages with 16 kills and 0 errors, according to Doane Athletics. 

Dale also recorded 3 solo blocks during the match.

The Tigers had a total of 9 aces serves throughout the game. Senior Allison Kuenle recorded the team high with 3 ace serves. 

Freshman setter Jaime Renshaw had 40 assists and ended up with 4 kills to close out the match.

The Tigers lost 1-3 against No. 14 Bellevue Tuesday Sept. 17th. 

The team recorded 35 kills with a hitting percentage of .079. 

Sophomore Genna Ryan-Piasecki and Junior Madison VanHousen led the Tigers with 9 kills each. 

While the Tigers had 10 service aces compared to the Bruin’s 4 and had half as many service errors compared to the Bruins, with 6 and 12 respectively. 

Kuenle and Junior Katie Ellard led the team with 3 service aces each. 

Renshaw dished out 27 assists during the match. 

Tigers are now 5-7 overall against the Bruins. 

The Tigers are set to play Saturday Sept. 21st against No. 25 College of St. Mary in Omaha.
