Despite popularity Grammys overrated

The month of February is a very interesting month, we have the Super Bowl, Valentine’s Day, but along with that, there are the Grammys, which is an eventful occasion in general.

Starting off with the shocking news was Taylor Swift announcing her new album titled, “The Tortured Poets Department.” All the Swifties thought she was going to announce “Reputation-Taylor’s Version” which I don’t know if they are upset or happy about her new album.

Speaking of shocking news, rapper Killer Mike walked away with three Grammys and was arrested for reasons unknown. Adding onto that, during Jay-Z’s speech he said, “I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than anyone, and never won album of the year,” referring to his wife Beyonce. Along with that, Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice and Aqua who “won” Best Rap Song got their Grammy taken from them because they “meant to say Scientists & Engineers” although they posted on Twitter and their website saying “Barbie World” won.

Walking away from the Grammys, Miley Cyrus won two Grammys for her song “Flowers” which was her first ever Grammy. Winning Album of the Year was Taylor Swift with “Midnights”, Song of the Year was Billie Eilish with “What Was I Made For?”, and Record of the Year was “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus.

Now here is the reason I believe that the Grammys are overrated, every year there are always the artists who say that the Recording Academy did them dirty or that one celebrity gets more recognition than others. That is the common thing.

Something that really upsets me is that some of the artists that they have for nominations are artists that I have never heard of. Along with that sometimes you’re just confused about where those nominations came from. But at the same time, I only listen to certain artists, which makes sense.
