Reality TV, sports and more may be scripted
Over the past couple of weeks I have been obsessed with watching reality shows, for example Dance Moms, Jersey Shore, The Bachelorette and more, and the amount of times I think wasn’t that supposed to happen though?
For example, in Dance Moms when Kenzie beats Maddie and she gets all upset, isn’t that supposed to happen? Or in Jersey Shore when one girl is falling in love with one of the guys but then out of nowhere goes for the other guy. Or whenever in the Bachelorette when they know who is going to get the girl before the show even starts.
And it’s not just reality shows that people think are scripted, it is also other things as well. A popular one that people think is scripted is the NFL. The most popular reason is because every year before the Super Bowl the teams have a week off so they can “have the right headspace” but maybe it’s because they are rehearsing for how the game is going to turn out. Even down to the team members’ reactions just to add to the game.
Another thing I believe is scripted is the news, and I am not the only person who believes that. If you just look up “news sources who use the same script” you will find videos after videos of people who had taken all the news clips that use the same scripts and put them all together to form one video.
Now to some people, it’s probably shocking to think about everything being scripted, but honestly, the more you think about it the more it makes sense.
