Dance competes at Nationals

The Dance Team spent the last week in Ypsilanti, Michigan to compete in the NAIA National Championships. This is not only the fourth consecutive appearance at the National Championships for Doane, but only the fourth time in history that the team has competed.

In the preliminary competition, Doane posted a score of 82.53, which would go on to account for 25 percent of the team’s final score. The next performance was in the final round, where the Tigers improved to score an 85.97, which contributed to the other 75 percent of their final score.

Both scores weighted resulted in a final score of 85.06, which would earn the Tigers sixth place. This is the second highest score the team has ever received at the national championship, just behind their score of 85.53 from last year. Their sixth-place finish also marks the second consecutive year Doane has finished in the top 10 performances.
