Tau Sigma Zeta hosts kickball

The members of Tau Sigma Zeta Fraternity held their annual kickball tournament this past weekend on April 13.

This event was held at 5 p.m. on the Frees Field. Students could gather friends and enter to be on a team to compete.

Senior and Tau Sigma Zeta member AJ Salinas said that there was a great turnout which is beneficial for Greek Life as a whole.

“All Greek groups were present at one point. I feel like this event is a good sign for the future of Tau Sigma Zeta and Greek Life,” Salinas said. Events like this are a great way for students to participate in friendly competition and have a good time with other students outside of their own circle. This is why Salinas said it is important for Greek Life.

“I feel like it’s good for the future of Greek Life too because I feel like we’re building bridges between all of the groups by having everyone come together,” Salinas said.

On top of having various sororities and fraternities come together to play some kickball games, this event also helped Tau Sigma Zeta come together too.

Up until the most recent rush season, this fraternity had to rely on six members to get events up and running. Now they have 20 men who Salinas describes as “hard working” and “dedicated.”

There were several new active members that Salinas saw step up and take on roles to get this event off the ground. Sophomore Hunter Pitt, freshman Sam Feng and senior Jesus Maganda were all part of the kickball committee with Salinas.

“They’re all new actives and have made my life so much easier. They really put the event together and deserve the credit,” Salinas said.
