Only two people to talk on the phone

I am currently in a long-distance relationship, meaning my partner and I talk on the phone almost every day, sometimes we can go days without talking to each other, and some days we literally need to be on the phone with each other every spare minute of the day. But the one thing I absolutely hate is when they call me, just to talk to other people.

Now I get it when someone accidentally interrupts you and you have to ask them what they want or something along those lines. However, they somehow seem to always get into a new conversation with someone whenever I pick up the phone. For example, there will be some days where we are having a great conversation, and then boom one of their friends comes up and starts talking to them and they don’t know how to stop the conversation.

On rare occasions does this make me upset, considering the fact that they are in the military so obviously if someone needs them they need to talk to them. However, when I have something specifically I want to tell them, for instance maybe it’s good news, bad news or something really interesting, that is when I get quite annoyed.

And following me getting absolutely annoyed, they will then ask me “Why are you mad?” Well, maybe if you would have paid more attention to what I was saying to them maybe you would understand why I am so frustrated.

But then there are other times where I’ll just be on TikTok or Instagram, or something else trying to keep me occupied. So the point of this is when you are on the phone with someone whether it is your mom, dad, brother, sister, significant other, whoever, make sure you pay attention to what they are saying, and don’t get into conversations with other people while you’re talking to them.
