On Jan. 29, the Women’s Basketball team played a conference away game against Mount Marty. The Tigers couldn’t achieve a victory and lost 85-70. In spite of the tough defeat, several players stood out with impressive performances. The leading scorer, senior Mak Hatcliff, had 23 points in the game. Senior Macy Holtz got three assists and senior Maddie Portwine grabbed seven rebounds and got three assists.
On Feb. 1, the Women’s Basketball team played a conference home game against Northwestern College. The Tigers couldn’t achieve a victory and lost in a really close result 59-55. The overall record for the team is 13-9 and their record for the conference is 8-8. The Tigers started the season in an impressive way, but lately they are reaping a number of negative results. In spite of the tough defeat, several players put in great performances. The leading scorer, junior Megan Chambers, had 16 points and six rebounds in the game. Junior Libby Trausch got two assists.
On Feb. 5, the Doane Women’s Basketball team will play at home against College of Saint Mary at 6 p.m. The team will try to put this defeat behind them and get back to winning ways for the final games of the season.
