Women’s Basketball wins against Saint Mary

On Feb. 5, the Women’s Basketball team played a home game against the College of Saint Mary. The Tigers won with a score of 102-49. Several players performed well. The leading scorer, senior Maddie Portwine, scored 29 points. Seniors Macy Holtz and Mak Hatcliff each had four assists. Senior Kaylee Klover grabbed nine rebounds and also had four assists.

On Feb. 8, the Women’s Basketball team played a conference away game against Briar Cliff University. The Tigers couldn’t achieve a victory and lost 96-67. The overall record for the team is 14-10 and their record for the conference is 9-9. The Tigers started the season in impressive fashion, but lately, they are having some negative results. Despite the defeat, several players put in great performances. The leading scorer, senior Mak Hatcliff, had 23 points. On the other hand, senior Macy Holtz got two assists and junior Megan Chambers got seven rebounds.

On Feb. 12, the Doane Women’s Basketball team will play at home against Midland University at 6 p.m. The team will try to put this defeat behind them and get back to their winning ways for the final games of the season.
