Men’s Golf
On March 12-14, the Men’s Golf team opened their season in Opelika, Alabama at the LTU Spring Break Invite where they walked away in seventh place with a score of 947. On March 17-18, they played their second tournament of the spring season at the Doane Spring Invite in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The Tigers divided the team into three different teams, A, B, and C. Team “A” consisted of seniors Sam Arnold and Blake Skoumal, junior Julius Rauter, sophomore Jack Millard and freshman Toby Knevett, who ended in fourth overall with an overall score of 598. Knevett finished in fourth overall hitting a 72 on both days individually, making his final score 144.
In team “B”, senior Noah Miller, junior Cauy Walters and sophomores Julius Kroell, Joshua Wassmer and Brock Heusinkvelt placed second with an overall score of 583.
Also tying for fourth overall was Korell, who hit a 78 on day one and a 66 on day two, as well as Walters, who hit a 76 on day one and a 68 on day two, resulting in both of them having an individual score of 144. Placing 10th overall was Wassmer, who had hit a 76 on day one and a 71 on day two, making his individual score 147.
Finishing up for the Tigers was team “C,” which consisted of seniors Connor Podiska, Derek Story, juniors Gabe Trampe, Cam Binder, sophomores Alex Morrall, Daniel Cook and freshmen Jaime Palá, Jake Dane and Trey Pulte, where they finished in seventh with a total score of 612.
Next up, the Tigers will be traveling to Bullhead City, Arizona, to compete in The Battle 36 Holes and The Battle 18 Holes on March 24-25.

Women’s Tennis
On March 22, the Women’s Tennis team had their first conference game for this Spring 25 season in Yankton, South Dakota, against Mount Marty University. The Tigers won their first away conference game 7-0 and started conference play with a perfect record in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). Currently, the overall record for the Women’s team is 5-5 taking into account the two defeats during the fall season.
In doubles, the No. 1 game senior Mariana Espinosa and sophomore Maria Purizaca prevailed 6-1. At No. 2 doubles, freshman Liz Calderon and junior Grace Schroller won 6-4. At No. 3 doubles, sophomore Isabella Castillero and sophomore Kat Johnson, finished with a score of 6-1. This strong doubles play helped Doane kick off their match for the Tigers.
At No. 1 singles, Purizaca prevailed 6-0, 6-0, while at No. 2 singles, Espinosa won 6-2, and when she was winning 1-0 the second set the opponent withdrew from the game. At No. 3 game Calderón won 6-3, 6-3. At No. 4 singles Castillero got a victory in a hard game 6-2, 2-6, 6-2. At No. 5 game Schroller 6-3, 6-3 and finally in the last game singles No. 6 Johnson won her match 6-3, 7-6.
Next up for the Women’s team will be a week full of games with the first game being at home on March 25 at 3 p.m. against Kansas Wesleyan University and their next match being away on March 27 at Nebraska Wesleyan University. Finishing up, there will be two home games against Hastings University on March 29 at 12 p.m. and against Baker University at 12 p.m.

Men’s Tennis
On March 22, the Men’s Tennis team played their first conference game of the Spring season in Yankton, South Dakota, against Mount Marty University. The Tigers lost their first away conference game 1-6 and started conference play winless. Currently, the men’s tennis team has a 3-7 overall record.
In doubles play, at No. 1. senior Jose Purizaca and junior Diego Infante won in a close game 7–6 with a 7-3 in the tie-break. In the No. 2 game, senior Andre Hartman and sophomore Elliot Dasell lost their doubles match 1-6. Finishing in double No. 3, freshman Christian Jensen and freshman Tanner Adams lost 0-6. Despite the win in the doubles game No.1, the Tigers could not achieve the doubles point.
The singles games proved difficult for Doane as only one of the players could secure a game-win for the Tigers. In singles No.1, Purizaca lost 3-6, 6-4, 1-6. At No.2, Infante wasn’t able to secure a win in a really competitive game. The final score was 6-4, 6-7, with Infante losing the tie-break 3-7, and the final set was 3-6. Single No.3 was played by Dasell, where he lost 2-6, 0-6. At No.4, Avila lost 1-6, 1-6. In single No. 5, Hartman could make the only victory for the team and finished 6-3, 6-1 and finally, in single No. 6, Adams lost 1-6, 0-6.
Next up, the Men’s team will be competing in a week full of games with the first game being at home on March 25 at 3 p.m. against Kansas Wesleyan University, with their second game being away on March 27 at 4 p.m. against Nebraska Wesleyan University. Finishing up the week, the Tigers will be back at home on March 29 to take on Hasting College and Baker University at 12 p.m.
