SPB builds student connections through cookies

On Tuesday, March 25, the Cookie Decorating event at Doane University provided students with a delightful diversion from their academics.

The event, which was organized by the Student Programming Board (SPB), brought together some students for a creative, restful, and, of course, delectable session. The event turned Lakeside into a joyful gathering place where attendees could use a range of vibrant icings, sprinkles and other edible embellishments to create their own sugar cookies. The cookie decorating offered a friendly and upbeat atmosphere, whether students were embracing their inner pastry chef or were just seeking a stress-free way to relax.

Attendees had a feeling of community with those who went in addition to the decorative arts. Numerous participants seized the chance to interact with their classmates, exchange cookie designs and even participate in friendly decorating contests. While some students chose traditional holiday-themed designs, others displayed original and creative works. Because they give students a balance between academics and social interaction, events like this are crucial to campus life. An excellent illustration of how easy activities may improve students’ well-being and provide enduring memories was the Cookie Decorating event.

The event was a huge success in making the Doane community happy, regardless of whether students came for the cookies, the company or just a little downtime.
