Country music sensation Zach Bryan is coming to Doane for a special performance. The chart-topping singer-songwriter will be making a surprise appearance as part of the Stop Day festivities.

Originally intended to be a secret, the news leaked ahead of time, revealing that President Roger Hughes and Student Congress (STUCO) President Blake Skoumal had been working behind the scenes to make it happen.

“We really wanted it to be a surprise, but it was too hard to hide,” Skoumal admitted. “President Hughes and I have been planning this for a while. We wanted to make this Stop Day extra special—a big ‘thank you’ to the students.”

According to the STUCO president, there might be other artists present. “The original idea was to bring several country artists—maybe even a whole festival—but that idea is still in the works,” Skoumal said with a laugh. “Hahaa, don’t get excited just yet. We figured Zach Bryan was enough of a logistical challenge… for now.”

Additionally, rumors are swirling that a limited-edition Zach Bryan x Doane merch will be available exclusively for this once-in-a-lifetime event.

“We can’t confirm or deny the merch just yet,” STUCO President Blake Skoumal said, “but let’s just say if you ever wanted a Zach Bryan shirt with a hidden Doane Tiger on it… You might be in luck.”

Rumors also suggest that the first 15 students at the concert might get a free signed poster.

Additionally, it was leaked that students will also be receiving extra credit for certain activities available on stop day, some of these include riding a mechanical bull, a dance competition, a talent show and a best-outfit-made-from-trash competition.

For the mechanical bull ride, a minimum of one minute riding must be accomplished to gain 5% of the credit.

For the dance competition, both team and individual participation count for extra credit. The theme will be: KPOP.

For the talent show, each contestant will showcase their weirdest talent, and according to the level of weirdness, professors will give them more credit.

For the best-outfit-made-from-trash competition, trash will be provided (from Sheldon’s second floor, as it is usually covered in trash). Students will only be able to pose using Roblox’s “Dress to Impress” poses (e.g., Pose 28). They will have a limited amount of time to create their outfits from the provided trash.

While the concert and the activities were leaked, the actual date of Stop Day remains a mystery. Stay tuned to The Owl for more Stop Day leaks.
