Men’s Tennis goes 2-1 at home

On April 1, the Men’s Tennis team played a home conference game against Hastings College. The Tigers achieved an important victory for the GPAC by 7-0. 

At No. 1. Doubles senior Jose Purizaca and Junior Diego Infante won 6-1. In doubles No. 2, sophomore Elliot Dasell and senior Andre Hartman won 6-1. Finally, in double No. 3, sophomore Julio Avila and freshman Christian Jensen won their match 6-1.

In singles, Purizaca won 6-0, 6-4 at No. 1, and at No. 2, Infante won 6-3, 6-2. No. 3 Hartman won 6-0, 6-2. At No. 4, Dassel won 6-1, 6-0. In single No. 5, Avila won 6-4, 6-2. Finally, in single No. 6,  freshman Tanner Adams lost 6-0, 6-0.

The second home game was against Bethany University, on April 3. Where the Tigers added another win to their streak winning 5-2. 

At No. 1. Doubles Purizaca and Infante won 6-2. In doubles No. 2, Dasell and Hartman won 6-4. Finally, in double No. 3, Avila and Jensen lost their match 1-6.

In singles, Purizaca won 7-6 with (8-6) in the tie-break, 6-0 and at No. 2, Infante won 7-5, 2-6, winning the tie-break 10-8. Single No. 3 was played by Hartman, who won 7-5, 4-6, and 10-5 in the tie-break. At No. 4, Dassell won 6-3, 6-0. In single No. 5, Avila lost 2-6, 4-6. Finally, in single No. 6, Adams lost 6-3, 2-6, and at the end lost in the tie-break.

Finally, the third home game of the week was against Morningside University, on Saturday, April 6. The Tigers could not continue with the victories and lost 0-7.

At No. 1. Doubles Purizaca and Infante lost 4-6. In doubles No. 2, Dasell and Hartman lost 2-6. Finally, in double No. 3, Avila and Jensen lost their match 0-6.

In singles, Purizaca lost 3-6, 6-4, 2-6 and at No. 2, Infante lost 2-6, 2-6. Single No. 3 was played by Hartman, who lost 1-6, 1-6. At No. 4, Dassell lost 2-6, 3-6. In single No. 5, Avila lost 0-6, 0-6. Finally, in single No. 6, Adams lost 1-6, 0-6.

The Tigers will be going against Midland University on April 9 at 3 p.m. and Northwestern University on April 12, at 12 p.m.
