Students create lips scrubs and snowglobes.
SPB, the Student Programming Board, hosted DIY Snowglobes and Lip Sugar Scrubs in Lakeside on Tuesday, Feb. 3, as a part of their Coffee Shop Series.
Two tables adjacent to the coffee shop were filled with all the supplies needed to make a brown sugar lip scrub with essential oils or a snowglobe with a student’s choice of glitter and a figurine inside.
“I put a little duck in [the snowglobe], and some teal glitter,” senior Kaitlyn Dumler said. “I just like ducks.”
The goal of this event was to reach out to the campus community and foster engagement.
“We just like to give free stuff for students on campus to do. It’s fun to engage and get to see people and just teach people new stuff,” SPB treasurer and senior Sofia Heaston said. “This is stuff you can do at home.”
SPB’s next event will be Pipe Cleaner Bouquets in Lakeside from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
“My favorite part of this event is seeing my friends working it, and going with my friends to do it,” junior Payton Morgan said. “It was a fun event and a good break in my day.”
