Softball continued its season this week by playing two doubleheaders against Mount Marty University and Briar Cliff University.
On April 14, the Tigers hosted Mount Marty and won 3-2. On the offensive side, junior Jeryn Allen had two hits with sophomores Milannie Gonzalez, Kayla Meyer and Ciara Hudson, junior Jacqueline Ordonez and senior Hannah Pack with one hit.
On the pitching side, junior Trinity Robinson pitched seven innings with two strikeouts.
During the second game, the Tigers won 4-0. The players who had the most impact on the hitting side were junior Evelyn Iniguez with two hits against the Lancers. The players with one hit were Allen, Gonzalez, Meyer, Ordonez and sophomore Addison Parsons.
On the defense side, Robinson pitched seven innings with no strikeouts.
Continuing the week, the Tigers traveled to Sioux City, Iowa, to play Briar Cliff on April 17. In the first game, the Tigers lost 8-9. The players who had the most impact were Allen, Iniguez, Parsons and Ordonez with 2 hits. Pack was able to make contact with one hit.
Robinson continued pitching for the Tigers with six innings and two strikeouts.
In the last game, the Tigers lost 7-11. Senior Faith McDonald had two hits with Hudson, Allen, Gonzalez, Iniguez, Meyer, Parson and junior Katelyn Hays with one hit.
On the pitching side, Robinson pitched one inning with zero strikeouts, and McDonald finished the game with pitching five innings pitched, three strikeouts.
Softball’s next game is against Northwestern University in Orange City, Iowa, on April 21.
