Doane volleyball starts its official season this week with five games.
On Aug. 25, Volleyball started its conference games playing in Lindsborg, Kansas, against Bethany College. The Tigers Bethany (25-23, 26-24, 25-20).
Leading the Tigers with kills were junior Natalie Wood with 12 kills, junior Kate Roseland
with seven kills and junior Brooke Larsen with six kills.
The Tigers with assists were sophomore Gentry Jensen with 24 assists and juniors Ashley Wright and Reagan Davis with four assists.
On the defense side, freshman Brooklyn Weise had 25 digs, Larsen had 14 digs, and freshman Jerney Tang-Silva had nine digs.
The Tigers then traveled to Parkville, Missouri, to play in the Park Classic on Aug. 28-29.
On the first day of the tournament, the Tigers played against Saint Mary College and Park University. The Tigers lost 1-3 to Saint Mary.
Despite the loss, Woods led with 8 kills, junior Jaylen Nachtigall had seven and junior Kylie Williams had six.
The assist leaders were Davis with 13 assists, junior Gracie Koch with 10 assists, and Jenson with 8 assists.
In digs, Larsen and Wood led with ten digs. Dakota Martinez and Weise led with nine digs.
The second game against Park University was a 0-3 loss.
The players who led in kills were Tang-Silva with nine kills, Larsen with five kills, and Addison Raebel and Nachtigall with three kills.
The assist leaders were Koch with eight assists, Wright with seven assists, and Jensen with five assists.
The players who helped on the defensive side with digs were Larsen and Wright with eight digs, Tang-Silva with seven digs, and Williams with five digs.
On day two in Parksville, Missouri, they played Southwestern University and Hannibal-LaGrange University.
Against Southwestern,the Tigers fell short, losing 2-3.
On the attacks, Wood led the day with 10 kills, Williams had nine kills and Larsen had seven kills.
Jensen led the most assists with 13, Wright had 10 assists and Koch had seven assists.
Larsen led in digs with 13, followed by Wiese with 11 and Wood with nine.
Volleyball finished off the Park Classic by playing Hannibal-LaGrange University. The Tigers won 3-2.
Leading the kills were Wood with 11 kills, Tang Silva with nine kills and junior Kajsa Bates with seven kills.
On the assist side, Jensen had 19 assists, Davis had 15 assists and Wright had 13 assists.
On the digs side, Martinez had 15 digs, Jensen had 14 digs and Wood and William had nine digs.
Volleyball’s next game is against Mount Marty in Yankton, South Dakota, on Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m.
