Alpha Psi Omega (APO), the national theatre honor society, hosted its annual Cabaret last Friday, Sept. 18, as a way for students to share their musical talents and fundraise for APO’s annual trip to Chicago.
The set list included six performances from musicals like “Into the Woods,” “Cabaret,” “Next to Normal” and “Chicago.”
The APO President senior Tori Brelsford shared, “I love giving students in the department another opportunity to perform that isn’t one of the main stage shows.”
Sophomore Aleena Allen, who came to support performers, shared, “I like seeing how creative everybody was and how passionate everybody was.”
“I really liked how everyone had fun; you could see it during “Your Fault” from “Into the Woods,” sophomore Tyler Greenwood said, who also came to see the performances.
APO Secretary, senior Kenzie Sanders, who performed first with “Moment in the Woods” from “Into the Woods,” shared why she chose that song. “I really love ‘Into the Woods,’ and it’s a challenging piece,” Sanders said. “I wanted to challenge myself in front of people.”
The theatre department will perform “Rhinoceros” from Thursday, Oct. 1 through Saturday, Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m.
