Men’s Golf finishes top five at NAIA Midwest Invite

Men’s Golf traveled to Silvis, Illinois, for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Midwest Invite on Sept. 28 and Sept. 29. 

Men’s Golf brought five players to this tournament. After 36 holes, Doane tied for 5th place.  The leaders were senior Josh Wassmer, placing 7th with a total score of 154 (74-78). In the first round, he made three birdies. 

Sophomore Carson Kildow placed 15th with a total score of 155 (75-80). Kildow made one birdie in round one on hole 12. Scoring third on Doane’s team and placing 25th, junior Jamie Pala totaled 158 (79-79). Pala made one birdie in the second round on hole four. Sophomore Jax Loh finished 37th with a score of 162 (81-81). Loh made six bogeys in a row during the second round. Lastly, junior Matt McConkey finished 51st with a score of 171 (89-82). McConkey had ten bogeys in the first round. 

Men’s Golf has its next tournament on Oct. 5 and Oct. 6 at the Nebraska Intercollegiate in Cairo, Nebraska.
