Women’s XC finishes 12th in Missouri

On Sept. 25, the Women’s Cross Country team traveled to Columbia, Missouri, to compete in the Gans Creek Classic, finishing 12th out of 23 teams. 

The first to cross the finish line for the Tigers was freshman Hailey Hengtgen, who finished 21st with a time of 22:13.2, which according to the Doane Athletics website, is the “fastest by a Doane freshman to open a season in a 5K race.” Junior Alison Bradford finished 71st in 23:07.5, and sophomore Kristen Billings finished 74th in 23:08.9. 

The fourth person to cross the finish line was senior Laura Hasemann, with a time of 23:28.5, placing her 96th. Placing 99th was freshman Corbett Lanum, who had a time of 23:30.1. Seniors Maddy Ramey and Delaney Catron were the sixth and seventh to cross the finish line for the Tigers. Ramey finished 112th overall in 23:42.5, and Catron finished 139th in 24:02.5. 

Next up, the Tigers will be traveling to Sioux Center, Iowa, to compete in the Dordt Holiday Inn Express Classic on Oct. 10.
