Starting off the Tigers’ third week, on Oct. 7 the Overwatch team, which consisted of freshmen Chance Mock, Thure Johnson, Davis Wilson, Joshua Brown, Ben Wright, sophomore Sam Hartman, juniors Jamey Rhea, Mady TenEyck, Rafael Garcia and senior Jose Purizaca, faced the University of Missouri Club Caspian. The Tigers were able to secure the first win of the week with the final score being 3-2.
On Oct. 8 the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate team, which consisted of freshmen Ryan Buron and Caleb Panning, sophomores Gabriel Medina and Emmanuel Medina, junior Giovanni Castaneda and senior Jax Stander, faced New Mexico Tech Miners. The Miners were able to walk away with a win against the Tigers with the score being 0-1.
A couple of days later on Oct. 10, the Rocket League team took on New Mexico State Universities’ White team. The Rocket League – Orange team consisted of freshmen Austin Manning, sophomores Todd Martin, Nathan Shupe, Dami Obakoya, Jerson Calderon, juniors Jordan Kwiatkowski and Winston Sears and seniors Branden Lackey and Trey Krueger. The NMSU White team defeated the Tigers with the final score being 1-3.
However, since the Rocket League match was during fall break, some of the players were able to play from their homes during these competitions.
Going into the fourth week, the Overwatch team had two competitions on Oct. 16, the Orange team would be facing South Arkansas Muleriders while the Black team faced the University of Nebraska-Kearney. The Overwatch-Orange team was able to walk away with a win against the Muleriders with the final score being 3-1, which gave them the first win of the week. Along with that the Black team also secured a win against the Lopers with the final score being 3-0.
On Oct. 17, both Rocket League teams would be having two competitions with Orange set to compete against the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University, and Black set to compete against Wayne State College’s JV team. With this, the Black team would be defeating the Wildcats with the final score being 3-0, while the Orange Team lost their match 0-3.
Finishing up their fourth week, the Overwatch – Orange team faced the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Grey team, where they beat the Grey Team 4-0.
Next up for the eSports teams, the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate team will be facing Roger State Smash at 7:00 p.m. with the competition against the Hastings Broncos set for 8:00 p.m. Rocket League – Orange is set to face the University of North Dakota Black team on Oct. 24 at 7:00 p.m. with Rocket League – Black competing against Bethany College Swedes at 8:00 p.m. and Augustana College at 8:30 p.m. The last competition of the week will be with the Overwatch – Orange team where they are set to face East Central University Tiger Tatooine on Oct. 25 at 7:00 p.m.
