Women’s Soccer

On Aug. 21, the Tigers opened their season at home, taking on Grand View University, where they walked away with a 1-1 tie.

In the first half of the game, the Tigers scored a team score, which is when a goal is made by a team and not one specific person. During the game, junior Virginia Johnson, who was the goalkeeper for this game, had five saves while senior Celeste Galvan had three attempted shots. 

Two days later, on Aug. 23, the Tigers traveled to York, Nebraska, to take on York University, where they won their first game of the season by a score of 1-0. 

In the second half, junior Megan Townsend scored the goal, along with senior goalkeeper Grayce Southern having one save. 

Next up, the Tigers will travel to La Grande, Oregon, to take on Eastern Oregon University on Aug. 29 and Northwestern (WA) University on Aug. 31.

Men’s Soccer

On Aug. 21, the Tigers opened their season at Bellevue, Nebraska, to take on No. 7 Bellevue University, where they walked away with a 4-0 loss. Senior Mateo Garcia D’Eletto had three attempted shots on goal, and junior goalkeeper Curtis Oberg had nine saves. 

Going into their next game, the Tigers traveled to York, Nebraska, to take on York University, where they fell by a score of 4-1. Scoring the only goal for the Tigers was junior Diego Villarreal, and keeping for this game was Oberg, who had five saves. 

Next up, the Tigers will be traveling to Lindsborg, Kansas, on Aug. 27 to take on Bethany College.

Women’s Volleyball

Over the weekend, the Tigers opened their season in North Sioux City, South Dakota, where they took on Dickinson State University, Bethany College, Dakota State University and Mayville State University. 

In the four-set game against Dickinson State, the Tigers went 1-3 with final scores being 25-22, 9-25, 12-25 and 23-25. Having the most kills in this game was junior Brooke Larson, who walked away with 20 kills. 

In their three-set game against Bethany College, the Tigers scored a victory, going 3-0 with final scores being 25-18, 25-18 and 25-20. Walking away with 17 assists was sophomore Ashleigh Kirkendall, with junior Camdyn Carpenter following with 13. 

In their second three-set game against Dakota State, they walked away with a loss of 0-3, with final scores being 22-25, 12-25 and 16-25. Having eight digs during this game was senior Kaylee Rammell. 

Finishing up, the Tigers walked away with a three-set victory with their final scores being 25-14, 29-27 and 25-16. Having the most total attempts during this game was Larson, who walked away with 36 attempts. 

Next up, the Tigers will be traveling to New Orleans, Louisiana, to compete in a two-day competition against Cumberland (TN) University, Xavier (LA) University, Blue Mountain Christian (MS) University and Southern University at New Orleans.
