Over the homecoming weekend, the Tigers played on Oct. 4 at home against Dakota Wesleyan University, where they endured a 7-33 loss.
Starting in the first quarter, Dakota Wesleyan scored its first touchdown at the 7-minute mark, but failed its kick, bringing the score to 6-0. Following that, with two minutes left on the clock, Dakota Wesleyan got another touchdown, along with two others in the second quarter.
At halftime, the Doane Cheer and Dance teams had their alumni be a part of their routine. Along with that, the Women’s Golf, Women’s and Men’s Wrestling teams and Men’s and Women’s Track and Field teams were recognized for their tremendous seasons last school year.
Starting back up in the second half, Dakota Wesleyan got its last touchdown of the game in the third quarter. However, in the fourth quarter, sophomore Sam Hartman scored a touchdown with freshman Ivar de Jong kicking for the extra point.
While most students will be enjoying their fall break, the Tigers will be busy taking on Mount Marty University at home on Saturday, Oct. 11, with kickoff set to start at 6:00 p.m.
