Women’s soccer falls to Concordia

Women’s soccer traveled to Seward, Nebraska, to battle Concordia University on Wednesday, Oct.29. The Tigers were unable to score a victory with a final score of 1-2.

Despite a tense first period in which neither team could score, sophomore Hayle Brodine came into the second period strong, scoring unassisted. This marked the first goal of the game and the second goal for Brodine this season.

Unfortunately, Concordia retaliated only a few minutes later with two consecutive goals. However, the game did have some highlights for Doane, including senior goalkeeper Virginia Johnson managing nine saves throughout the game.

The team will travel to Sioux Center, Iowa, this Tuesday to play against Dordt University at 7 p.m. in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Tournament Quarterfinals. Currently, Doane Women’s Soccer has the fifth seed with nineteen total points awarded.
