On Feb. 6, the Doane Baseball team traveled 913 miles to Victoria, Texas, to take on Wayland Baptist University and Texas A&M University – Victoria, where they walked away 1-1.
In the first game against Wayland, the Tigers took the win of 8-6, with senior Carter Roth having three runs and senior Sam Kwapnioski having two runs. Senior Kaden Crawford, the pitcher, took the winning pitch, which makes him 1-0.
In the second game against A&M, the Tigers walked away defeated with a final score of 8-7, with junior Grant Sommers and redshirt junior Max Harris each scoring two runs.
Fast forward to the next day, the Tigers took on the same teams once again, also walking away 1-1.
In the game against Wayland, the Tigers lost 4-3, with Roth, Harris, and sophomore Kai Burkey having a run apiece.
In their final game against A&M, the Tigers won the game 8-3, with junior Brayden Jones having the most runs of the game with two. Walking away with the winning pitch was senior Nicolas Yard with puts him 1-0 as well.
Next up, the Tigers will be traveling to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to take on Oklahoma City University on Feb. 14 and 15.
