Men’s Golf maintains strong individual performances

On April 6 and 7 Men’s Golf traveled to Andover, Kansas, to compete in the Lark Invitational. Doane took eight players total for the two-day, three-round tournament, with six competing on a team and two as individuals. 

Sophomore Heidar Bjarnason led the team in all except the last round, shooting on par in the second round. Freshman Ben Kottmeyer scored lower than Bjarnason in the second round, only one shot above par. 

In total, they scored 895 (298-300-297), placing fourth. 

Freshman Embree Stutsman and Carson Kildow shot below 80 all three rounds, securing them good individual placements. 

Bjarnason tied for fourth place individually with a total of 218. Both Kottmeyer and Stutsmann tied for 18th with 225, giving the Tigers three top-twenty finishes. Kildow placed 25th with a total of 227. 

Men’s Golf will next play on April 13 and 14 in Lincoln, Nebraska, before the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) on April 20 and 21.
