Doane University announced Men’s Greco-Roman wrestling in November 2024, but officially started its season in the fall of 2025 and is already seeing strong success. Recent results from the U.S. Open Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada, highlight the program’s strength and future potential.
Doane is proud of its senior athletes for their performances against top competition. Junior Isaac Gibbs, Patrick Brackett and graduate assistant Tommy Brackett were all named Senior All-Americans. Gibbs placed sixth at 55 kg, Patrick Brackett placed seventh at 77 kg and Tommy Brackett placed sixth at 82 kg.
The program also saw strong results from its younger athletes and is excited for their continued development and future success. Freshman Hunter Humphrey placed eighth at 87 kg, while sophomore Jayden Tadeo-Gossl placed sixth at 97 kg. Both were named U20 All-Americans.
Doane also delivered strong performances and represented an exciting part of the program’s future. Anthony Delgado placed second at 63 kg, and Gavin Weichelt placed fifth at 67 kg. Delgado and Weichelt were also named U20 All-Americans.
With these successes at this event, Doane’s wrestling program continues to build momentum and looks forward to the continued growth of its Greco-Roman wrestling program.
