On Monday, Aug. 24 and Tuesday, Aug. 25, the Doane women’s golf team opened the 2026-27 season at the Mount Marty Women’s Invite in Yankton, South Dakota.
The Doane golfers were divided into two different teams, both finishing in the top six of the 13-teams.
The Women’s Golf “A” team placed third in the tournament with a 36-hole score of 668 (338-330).
For the Tigers “A” team, junior Connie Jarm led, ending in 10th place with a score of 165 (85-80), senior Avery VanHorn tied for 11th with a 166 (83-83), sophomore Isabelle Johnson finished tied for 24th with a score of 171 (82-89), senior Payton Morgan placed tied for 28th with a score of 175 (88-87) and junior Jamisyn Kirkpatrick ended in 31st with 176 (96-80).
The Tigers’ “B” team finished sixth overall with a score of 684 (358-326), making a dramatic 32-stroke improvement on day two.
Junior Lailia Saunders led the way, earning a fifth-place overall finish with a score of 159 (83-76), sophomore Emmarie Miles tied for 17th place with a score of 168 (88-80), sophomore Kaelin Martellaro finished 35th with a 179 (92-87), freshman Sophia Esqueda took 36th with a 180 (95-85) and freshman Dayna Keeling tied for 38th place with a score of 181 (96-85).
The next tournament is the Siouxland Invite on Sept. 8-9 in Orange City, Iowa.
