On Aug. 26, women’s soccer started its season at home with a tie, 2-2, against York University. In the first half of the game, sophomore Anali Astorga scored the first goal with the assist of junior Hayle Brodine.
York was able to bounce back to tie up in the first half of the game. In the second half, junior Alexis Adam assisted senior Megan Townsend with a goal to put the score at 2-1.
In the last few minutes of the game, York was able to tie up and end the game.
Women’s soccer continued the season in Crete on Aug. 29 against McPherson College.
The Tigers fell to McPherson 1-3. The Tigers weren’t able to score in the first half of the game.
Ten minutes into the second half of the game, Brodine scored the first goal of the game.
McPherson finished the second half of the game by scoring three goals to make the final score of the game.
The next game for women’s soccer is Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. against Nebraska Wesleyan at home.
