On Sept. 19, Men’s and Women’s soccer played Morningside University in Sioux City, Iowa. Men’s soccer lost 0-3.
Morningside scored two goals in the first half. The Tigers had six shots on goal: sophomore Mateo Jelicich had two shots on goal, and seniors Hamza Wadi, Joaquin Cortes, Tadeo Loutayf, and junior Cohen Hubbard each had one.
In the second half, Morningside scored their third goal. In goal, freshman Gabriel Lara had seven shots on goal and saved four.
Meanwhile, women’s soccer lost to Morningside 0-4. In the first half, Morningside scored the first two goals.
The Tigers had eight shots on goal: leader senior Brianna-Lynn Ehia had three shots, senior Megan Townsend, sophomore Megan Kennedy, senior Jennifer Tenney-Sierra and sophomores Caitlyn Adams-Baum and Elizabeth Winkels each had one shot on goal. In the second half, Morningside scored two more goals.
Senior goalie Virginia Johnson had ten shots on goal and saved four.
Both Men’s and Women’s soccer will play Dakota Wesleyan University at home on Sept. 26. Women’s soccer will start at 5:00 p.m., and Men’s soccer will follow at 7:15 p.m.
