Skits to conclude Greek month

After a long month for the Greek active members and newly pledged members, those new members became active members of their respective Greek groups on March 1.

Freshman Shelby Hesman explains that although Greek month was a hassle it was fun getting to know more about her group, along with its members.

“I am so happy that Greek Month is over,” Hesman said. “I am happy to finally be an active member of Omega Psi Theta but I am going to miss getting together with everyone and having hours. However I will not miss the lack of sleep I got this whole month.”

During this month these groups have done numerous activities for example learning the other groups’ songs, having encounters with the other groups, learning about their group’s history, little get-togethers and many other things.

“I honestly think that the bridge crossing went really well,” Hesman said. “I was really proud about our skit, but it also brought us closer together which is something I like about my group.”

During skit night, similar to Homecoming’s skit night, however, it is the new members doing most of the work. At the end of each skit, the groups and their alumni would go back to their designated seating area cheering on their group’s cheer.

Soon after everyone had done their skit, that was when all the groups marched around campus singing their songs and chants loud and proud, and ended their night with crossing the bridge, which ended up being the Path of Distinction to New Hall to become active members.

Although this month may have been hectic for many members, they are just glad to have new faces in their groups.
