Tuition increases due to inflation

Total cost increases around $2,000 for 2024-2025

On March 20, University Communications sent out an email to all Doane students making them aware of the tuition, housing and fees costs for the next academic year.

The email read that costs for the next academic year have been set and that there has been an increase in tuition. Since the increase does affect current and future students and families, Doane aims to be as transparent as possible when making these decisions.

Due to this, Doane administration and the Chief Financial Officer continue to look for ways to make the Doane educational experience more cost effective. Yet, it was due to inflation costs on staffing, building and more.

For the 2024 to 2025 school year, the cost of tuition will be $40,520 for all Crete residential students. This was a $1,184 increase from the previous academic year.

Housing and food for Crete students living on campus increased from $11,615 to $12,178. Fees similarly increased from $1,155 to $1,465.

Overall this means that the cost of tuition, housing and fees together increased $2,062.

This is the estimated price for an on-campus Crete full-time student. Many other factors would affect the price including living off-campus, taking more than 18 credits, or attending Lincoln, Omaha or online campus.

For Crete students who are taking more than 18 credits, any additional credits will be $655 per credit.

Students who have any concerns about this increase in tuition, their financial aid package or any other tuition related issues can contact the Financial Aid Office. This office can be reached at faoffice@doane.edu or at (402) 826-8260.
