Softball struggles to score in midseason games

Softball traveled to Omaha, Nebraska, to play College of Saint Mary on April 6. In the two-game series, softball lost both games.  

In the first game, the Tigers lost 3-6. 

The most impactful players were junior Katelyn Hay with three hits, junior Jeryn Allen, and junior Evelyn Iniguez, who each had two hits. Along with sophomores Addison Parsons and Bri True, with one hit. 

On the pitching side, junior Natalie Ascencio pitched six innings with three strikeouts. 

In the second game against the College of Saint Mary, the Tigers lost 4-5. 

The players who helped out the team were sophomore Kayla Meyer with three hits, Parson, Hays, and sophomore Ciara Hudson with two hits. The players who contributed with one hit were Allen, junior Jacqeline Ordonez and sophomore Milannie Gonzalez. 

On Apr 11, Softball hosted Dakota Wesleyan in a two-game series. In the first game, the Tigers lost 1-3 to Dakota Wesleyan. 

The players who contributed to the team were Iniguez, who had 2 hits with Allen, and junior Liliy Lewis, who had 1 hit. 

Junior Trinity Robinson pitched all seven innings with two strikeouts. 

In the second game against Dakota Wesleyan, they lost 0-8. Senior Faith McDonald had two hits with the help of Allen, Meyer and Hays with one hit. 

Softball’s next games are against Mount Marty at home, at 2 p.m and 4 p.m.
